The opioid epidemic has claimed the lives of far too many of our neighbors, our friends, and our family members in this district. We need new and forward thinking ideas to save those affected by this crisis. First responders must be given our support for stronger enforcement as well as the resources to guide those in need toward effective care. We must also invest in evidence-based treatment and alternative therapies for those who are suffering from pain so that we build a long term solution to this growing problem.
Quality In-Home Services
Our parents and grandparents should have access to quality care services in the comfort of their own home. They have worked their whole lives to give us a bright future and they deserve the dignity of being well taken care of in their old age. PA Lottery funds help pay for essential senior services but there are extensive waiting lists to receive them. Long Term Care benefits require recipients to spend down to the poverty level. We must prioritize serving our seniors- they cared for us, now let’s care for them.
Access for Working Families
No matter what community you live in, we all deserve universal access to healthcare. A family’s financial position shouldn’t determine whether or not they have access to affordable, quality care. No parent should ever be forced to choose between paying their mortgage or their child’s medical bills. Let’s not wait for DC to figure it out—we can take action now to protect Pennsylvanians.
